Board Survey - For Established Organizations
Challenge: The Board leadership wonders how well the Board is functioning. The Executive Director is frustrated that the Board seems to do so little and is unaware of what they should be doing but finds it difficult to raise these issues.
Solution: Designed for organizations operating at the Growth and Established Stages, this survey of Board members is used to engage Board members in the assessment process and test the health of relationships at the leadership level. This tool gathers information about how well the Board is functioning, the health of the relationship with the Executive Director, and the Board’s perception of its own accomplishments. You may download a copy of the survey and administer it yourself or contact us to help you administer and analyze the survey results.
Use Case
This tool is for nonprofit leaders who are interested in assessing the effectiveness of the Board of Directors.
Case Study: A mid size human service organization used their Board survey results in two ways. First, to test the trust levels between the Board and Board leadership and the Board and the Executive Director, and then, second, as a means of alerting Board members to several areas of fiduciary responsibility they had routinely ignored. The results in both areas raised interest and engagement. In the area of fiduciary responsibility, Board focus and productivity increased.
